Cherry jam, spice, and a touch of vinegar make a quick and elegant cherry sauce for ham.
Ingredients:
- 1 (2 pound) Bone-In thick cut ham steak
- 1 (12 ounce) jar cherry preserves
- 1/4 cup Our Family® pure honey
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
- In a small saucepan, combine the preserves, mustard, lemon juice and cinnamon. Cook and stir over low heat for 2-3 minutes. Set glaze aside.
- Score edges of ham. Grill, uncovered, over medium heat for 8-10 minutes on each side, brushing with glaze during the last few minutes of grilling.
- Serve with additional glaze.
Notes
Don’t have cherry preserves? Try substituting apricot, plum, or apple jelly / jam.
This sauce is also wonderful on baked spiral cut ham or pork chops.
